William B. Groman

(Dec 3, 1923 to Oct 11, 2011)

He was a Jersey City guy whose dedication spread to every aspect of his life: God, Family and Fire Co. When his country needed him he answered the call of duty: he spent two years in the army during WWII. Service to his nation didn’t stop there. After leaving the military he joined the Jersey City Fire Co. and spent 42 years protecting his community. He lived life without regrets: “If I could live my life over I’d do everything the same” and “That was the best thing I ever did” he’d often quip. rnIn sickness and in health he gave his all to his wife, Louise and his love for his daughter, Patricia Keating -Johnson, knew no bounds. To his grandson, Billy, he passed on his love of the Fire Dept., for Ben he stood as his best man, he gave Joe his quick wit and to Nicole and Danielle he gave his good looks and blue eyes. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.rnCome celebrate 87 giving years Saturday at The Catholic Community of the Holy Spirit, 17 Earlington Ave. Mullica HillrnFrom Noon, Mass of Christian Burial 1PM.
