Vito – Guarrera

(Jun 20, 1924 to Apr 20, 2010)

To say farming was in his blood would be an understatement. Vic’s family moved to a Swedesboro farm when he was 24 days old. He continued growing vegetables and flowers until age 80. Spring meant planting and Vic couldn’t resist. He also raised cattle and chickens. The chicks were for family consumption and the eggs too. When his sister, Sadie refused to have chickens on the farm Vic had to suffer eating “store bought” chicken. Farming and family were everything to Vic and gave him the contentment others search for endlessly.rnHe was pre deceased by his parents: Joseph and Concetta and siblings: Sadie Quattrone, Eva Raffaghello, Rose Farro and Carmen Guarrera. His survivors include his baby sister, Marie Morris a brother , Phillip and many nieces and nephews.rnCome celebrate 85 green thumb years Thursday 6 to 8pm and from 9:30 am on Friday at Daley Life Celebration Studio, 1518 Kings Hwy., Swedesboro. The Vito I knew was a happy, proud, generous man. He always had a kind word and was a gracious host. I know he is in heaven with the Lord because that is where all the good souls go. He will be truly missed.

Dear Marie, So sorry to hear about Vito. I always enjoyed when you and Vito visited The Bank. He had his gentle way and was a pleasure to know. My brother Jim Leonard passed away last October and he too loved farming.rnSincerely Ann McFadden
