During WWII Walt served in the Navy where he learned his trade. This training gave him the opportunity to join McCloskey and Co. as an operating engineer. He was a member of IUOE Local # 542. He retired in 1985. Walt is survived by 3 daughters: Beverly Ward (James, deceased), Joan Hurley(John), and Denise Kues (Jack Maguire), grandfather of 5, and great grandfather of 4.
