Jennie “Jo” Josephine Eirich

(Jul 11, 1928 to Feb 22, 2012)

Much like Louis Pasteur’s sentiment that “my strength lies solely in my tenacity”, Jo’s will knew no bounds. Never one to indulge a pity-party, regardless of what came her way she simply moved forward, for both herself and her family. She thought nothing of working all day and then handling the endless tasks of a wife and mother at night. As the “rock” in the family, she always showed great strength and served as a role model for her family. Whether times were good or bad, she was never one to sit still, she keep moving. Spring cleaning wasn’t reserved for April, it was every Saturday, the landscaping at her home in Delran always reflected her love of yard work and even well in to her later years she could be found with a crotchet needle in hand. She didn’t even let technology intimidate her; anyone who received the greeting cards made on her computer could attest to that.rnrn While still a student at Palmyra High School Jo met a young man named Daniel Eirich, however it wouldn’t be until he returned from serving in the Navy that the two would fall in love and start a family. Before his passing in 2001, their 53 year marriage was blessed by their children: Daniel, Jr. of Delran, Christine Muriel Eirich of Egg Harbor City, Pattilynn Eirich-Smith of Riverside and the late Blair T. Eirich. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and her sisters: Doris Moyer and Carole Rowe.rnrn Come celebrate Jo’s 83 strong years Monday from 10 AM at the Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside, where the service will be at 12 Noon. Interment Lakeview Memorial Park.rnrn
