Jeffrey Coles

(1962 - 2014)

Jeff’s job as Chief Financial Officer for Monroe Twp. and Swedesboro were serious positions. His abilities and a degree in economics from the University of Delaware opened the door to those jobs. But when he could exit from the office he enjoyed the great outdoors. Several times a winter Jeff could be found snowboarding in the Vermont mountains. The other seasons he kayaked and camped in several state parks. Jeff bowled at Woodstown Lanes with several teams.
Jeff is survived by his parents, Beverly and Lewis of Bridgeport, two sons both Eagle Scouts , Michael and Jason, of Logan Twp., Brothers Lewis (Judy) and Mark (the late Ellen), sisters Faye ( Michael ) Jones and Diane Branco ( the late Thomas).
Come celebrate 51 great years Tuesday, August 26 at Daley Life Celebration Studio, Swedesboro where calling is from 9:30am and the service is at 11:30am. Leave a great story of Jeff at lifecelebrationstudio.com

Ever since the days of working on the farm and hanging out with Jeffrey as a child, I have had great memories and experiences including crop dusting! Please accept my family’s condolences. I am sorry I won’t be able to attend the service, but I will be there in spirit. May he rest in peace.

I taught Jeff in the CFO courses many years ago, and he would bring in tomatoes from the farm to the class. I was amazed that he travel from Logan Township to Ocean City, but he did for every class. He was always very sincere and happy, and was a true professional. I am sorry about his passing, and my thoughts are with his family.

My sincere thoughts and prayers are with the Coles family at this difficult time. Jeff will always remain
in my memory as a good friend and great pilot. We worked together at the old Bridgeport Airport, and
had loads of fun together. Jeff was always going 100 MPH, if he wasn’t at the airport, he was at the
farm stand. Jeff was also a person who would do anything for anyone at any time. Blue skys and tailwinds
Jeff. Until we meet again in heaven, rest peacefully in God’s hands.

Jeff-a colleague, mentor and friend. He was one of the good guys. I will miss talking municipal government on the soccer sidelines while watching the games. My thoughts and prayers are with his family-particularly his sons. May God bless you all and comfort you at this sad time.

Uncle Lew & Aunt Bev and family, Michael & Jason:
I’m so very sorry for your loss. My deepest sympathy to all of you in your time of grief.
I will always remember Jeff, when I would run into him, he was always so pleasant and
had the greatest smile! May you find comfort in your memories, keep them close to your
hearts. May God in his infinite wisdom, give you all the courage and strength you need to
mourn your loss and move on with your lives as a family. My thoughts and prayers are with
you – words seem so inadequate in a time of such sadness. God be with you all.
    With deepest sympathy,
    Love and prayers,
    Margie

I knew Jeff well when I was working. He was a great person and was never too busy to answer questions or offer help to anyone who asked. Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. The world has lost a truly unique and wonderful man.

Jeff was my boss at my first job when I was 16 years old at Grace and Bill’s roadside produce stand on 322. I really enjoyed working there and one reason was because of how warm, friendly, and playful Jeff was. He had a big smile and was a jokester.

Years later, I found Jeff as my neighbor when we moved to Bridgeport. He was a nice neighbor to have…always took his time to snowblow our sidewalks in the winter. We never asked him to…he would just come out and do it out of his own kindness.

I am very sad to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers to Mr. and Mrs. Cole, Jeff’s boys and siblings, as well as his other family and friends. May he rest in peace.

I am so thankful that I had the pleasure of working with Jeff for the past couple of years at Swedesboro. I’ll miss helping him when the copier starts to malfunction, and I’ll miss all of the playful jokes and teases. He was a very kind, thoughtful, and funny man whom I know will be dearly missed at the Borough. My thoughts are with the Coles’ family through this difficult time. May you never walk alone.

Jeff was such a sweet guy. Many a volleyball practice or game were spent just chatting with him. He was such a help with getting DJ to games and practices we were unable to attend. The Salvatore’s send prayers and our deepest sympathies to his family.
