Helen Fardella

(Jul 7, 1951 to Apr 2, 2012)

Helen graduated from Patterson State College with a teaching degree. She wasn’t sure that teaching was what she wanted. Her sister talked her into substituting and then she knew it was to be her life’s work. So Helen went back to Rowan and got a Master’s Degree .rnMath was her subject and Williamstown High students benefited from her tutoring especially if they had trouble learning. She was passionate about passing on her skills. Helen also cared for her teaching colleagues. The teachers of the Monroe Twp Teachers Union received 110% of her organizing skills, plus she was their treasurer, lead negotiator, and arbitrator.rnIt took one dance with her husband, Mario to lead them to marriage. Her survivors also include a brother, Santo (Antoinette) Maccherone, a sister, Sara (John) Lawall and many 2 nieces and 2 nephews.rnCome celebrate 60 great years Monday from 6 to 8 PM and Tuesday from 8:30AM to 9:30 AM at Daley Life Celebration Studio, 1518 Kings Hwy., Swedesboro. Mass of Christian burial 10AM Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Church, Swedesboro. Helen was a great friend. She was loyal, strong, dedicated to her students and incredibly courageous. I’ll remember the hours of conversation and the many good times that we shared. Sympathy and prayers to Mario, Sara, Santo and all Helen’s family.
