Elizabeth M. Santaniello

(Sep 8, 1924 to Oct 31, 2009)

Betty may be the embodiment of Abe Lincoln’s remark “in the end it’s not the years in your life, but the life in your years that matters.” Always outgoing, a group of strangers were simply friends she’d yet to meet. And with a contagious sense of cheerfulness, she brightened any room she entered. Whenever the opportunity arose, she’d be the first on the dance floor. Always meticulous about her appearance, her outfits were always perfect, down to the last detail, and it’d be rare to see her with even a hair out of place. With her sister Helen by her side, she would happily spend a day shopping. And when back in Riverside, she could be found having lunch with her group of friends affectionately known as the “merry widows”. Always excited to have a full house, her grandkids were the best company. In fact, sometimes it may have been hard to get them back. rn Betty is the wife of the late Ernest Santaniello and the former wife of the late Henry J. Miller. She is survived by her son Henry J. Miller, Jr. (Nancy) of Somers Point, her grandchildren Kelly, Dale, Kyle and was especially proud of her grandson Todd’s service to the Navy. She is also survived by her great-granddaughter Julia, and is the sister of Helen Costello of Burlington and the late Jane Mumford. rn Come celebrate 85 vivacious years Friday from 10 AM at the Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside, where the service will follow at 11. Interment private. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 601 Hamilton Ave. Trenton, NJ 08629.rn
