Clara Fogarty

(Mar 15, 1920 to Nov 14, 2011)

Regardless of the situation Clara never gave into adversity, she merely adapted. Having been raised during The Depression she didn’t weigh herself down with frugality. When it was commonplace for girls of her generation to not finish school, she graduated a year early. And, although she lost her mother at a very young age, her mothering skills became second to none. She wasn’t just the matriarch; she was her family’s caregiver, supporter and an inspiration.rn While in elementary school, Clara had a particular distain for a boy named Walter, who would often dip her pigtails in the inkwells. Within a few years, however, her feelings would change, and the two would eventually marry and settle in Edgewater Park. Before his passing in 2006, their 65 year marriage was blessed by their children: Hazel Semenuk (Mark) of Mt. Holly, Paul of MI and the late Walter, and again by their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. rn Come celebrate Clara’s 91 wonderful years (Mar. 15, 1920-Nov. 14, 2011) Friday from 9:30 AM at the Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside, where the service will follow at 11. Interment Monument Cemetery, Beverly. rn
